Our Educationsl Philosophy
Our educational philosophy is very simple but requires daily effort and intentionality - Make children feel safe, valued and loved. Then they can achieve any and everything! I truly believe that the great Maya Angelou and live by these words:
People will forget what you said,
people will forget what you did,
People will never forget how you made them feel.
My God –given purpose has called me to support all children; giving them exposure to what quality education and care looks and feels like.
Kym Ramsey, originally from Aurora, Colorado, graduated from Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Economics and proficiency in Portuguese. Kym received a commission into the United States Army as 2nd Lieutenant and after graduation attended the Military Intelligence School and Leadership Training in Ft. Huachuca, AZ and completed Airborne Training in Ft. Benning, GA.
Her first duty assignment was with the 2nd Infantry Division at Camp Casey, Korea – the closest Camp to the DMZ that any female was deployed. She was in command of the Headquarters’ Division with over 1700 soldiers. After, Korea, she was sent to Goodfellow Air force Base in San Angelo, TX, a joint military base – training soldiers in electronic warfare during Desert Storm.
After four years serving on active duty in the Army, Kym went into the Inactive Reserve pursued her Masters of Business Administration with a focus in Human Resource Management at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. After completing her MBA, she began her second career in Human Resources with several fortune 500 firms in such capacities as Recruiters, Executive Benefits and Compensation, EEO Officer, Human Resource Generalist and Manager.
From 2004 – 2008, Kym owned and operated a private preschool located in Skippack, PA with over 200 children enrolled from ages six weeks to six years and its Annex for school aged children. The Annex housed a full day Kindergarten, a library, computer lab, resource center, and a gym with a rock climbing wall. In July 2008, she sold the school to focus on bringing quality childcare services similar to major chains to the urban market.
Kym has taught Management, Leadership, and Communication courses to both undergraduate and graduate students at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey, Temple University and The Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia. She has volunteered her time as Admissions Counselor and Interviewer for Georgetown University, a board member of Germantown Academy’s Diversity Committee and was a member of the Junior League of Philadelphia, a trainer for Department of Human Services in the Institute of Family Professionals and is a Certified Parent Educator working with various organizations in Philadelphia.
